5-year-old Naiya Villegas Was Murdered 4 years ago. Justice for Her Begins Thursday

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Justice moves at a slow pace on purpose.  A five-year-old girl’s throat was cut four years ago in San Angelo and Isidro Delacruz was accused of the crime and is charged with capital murder.

Jury selection in his trial begins Thursday morning at the McNease Convention Center in San Angelo because there’s not a big enough courtroom in the Tom Green County Courthouse to handle that many potential jurors.

Delacruz’s trial has been delayed several times.  Jury selection may take several weeks and exactly when testimony will begin is not know at this time.

The first phase of jury selection begins at the McNease Convention Center with 325 potential jurors filling out a questionnaire developed by prosecutors and defense attorneys.

We’ll have more on this story on Thursday.
