Pregnant Woman Escapes an Attacker in Hood County

HOOD COUNTY, TX – A pregnant woman and her dog fought off a man with a knife early Monday morning, according to Hood County News.

Deputies were called to the home on Lake View Drive in Arrowhead Shores at 6:00 a.m., said Public Information Officer Lt. Johnny Rose.

The 25-year-old woman told deputies she answered a knock at her door when the male suspect forced his way into the home brandishing a knife. The man was approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and cargo style brown pants, sporting a blown pillowcase on his head and had a tribal tattoo on his right bicep, according to Rose.

The woman was able to fight back with a little help. She struck the man on the head with a flower vase and the family dog bit the man on the left thigh and chased him from the home.

The woman had several superficial cuts on her arms and stomach but was not seriously injured.

The case is under investigation, and anyone with information on the attack can call Hood County Crimestoppers at 817-573-TIPS.
