2 Victims in ICU After Abilene Shooting

 

ABILENE, TX. – An armed and dangerous suspect is at large after a north Abilene shooting that landed two victims in ICU following fights at two Abilene area nightclubs early Friday morning according to bigcountryhomepage.com.

A 22-year-old male was shot in the chest and q 21-year-old female was shot in the head after a fight broke out at the Edge apartments on the 500 block of N. Judge Ely Blvd just after 3:15 a.m., police revealed in a press conference. Both victims remain in ICU at Hendrick Medical Center in critical condition.

Police Chief Stan Standridge says he believes the victims and suspect were at a bar close by called Guitars and Cadillacs prior to the shooting when a fight broke out, and a female victim slapped a known male.

The group then went to Jaguars in Tye, and Chief Standridge believes the male assaulted the female, which prompted the female’s family members to gather and go over to the Edge apartments for a confrontation.

Once there, another fight took place in the parking lot and at some point, a suspect involved pulled out a gun and fired multiple times, striking both victims, according to Chief Standridge.

Everyone had fled the scene before the police had arrived and the victims were discovered during a traffic stop and taken to the hospital.

Chief Standridge says that several parties have been detained in connection to this investigation but no one has officially been charged yet.

Detectives believe they have identified the shooter but he has not been taken into custody. Chief Standridge says he believes the suspect is armed and dangerous.
