Customs Officials Seize $1.2 Million worth of White Powdery Substance in Eagle Pass

EAGLE PASS, TX -- Customs and Border Protection officers found and seize almost 62 pounds of methamphetamine at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry last week.  

According to a press release from the CBP, officers at the Camino Real International Bridge inspected a 2002 Ford F-150 coming into the U.S. from Mexico.  After x-raying the pickup, officers located and seized the drugs worth $1.2 million.  

“Our CBP officers maintain constant vigilance in protecting the United States,” said Port Director John Brandt, Eagle Pass Port of Entry. “Keeping dangerous drugs from entering our country is one of the key missions of CBP.”

An unidentified 50-year-old male resident from Corsicana was arrested and turned over to officers with homeland security for further investigation.  

CBP officers screen all people, vehicles and goods entering the United States while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel. Their mission also includes carrying out border-related duties, including narcotics interdiction, enforcing immigration and trade laws, and protecting the nation's food supply and agriculture industry from pests and diseases.
