Police Nab Suspected Burglars in Downtown's Paintbrush Alley

SAN ANGELO, TX — Late Sunday afternoon, San Angelo police were alerted of a burglary behind the unit block of W. Twohig Ave. Police approached the alleyway between the buildings on W. Twohig and W. Concho and found four suspects.

Police suspected the quartet had forced entry into a building and detained the young men.

As the investigation progressed, one of the suspects took off on foot. Police found him quickly hiding inside a trash bin.

The guy found in the trash, Steven Henry, 20, was arrested on the spot for evading arrest and detention, resisting arrest or transport, criminal trespass, and failure to identify himself as a fugitive from justice. Henry had two outstanding warrants from a May 2017 arrest for possession of marijuana.

Arrested alongside Henry were Seth Call Jones, 19; Donovan Louis Moore, 19; and Devon Dominque Torres, 18. The three were arrested for criminal trespass.

Henry remains in jail on $4,000 in bonds. The rest were released from the Tom Green County Jail on PR bonds.

Passing Out Drunk in Running Cars

Also over the weekend, Aaron Dakota Cooke, 23, was arrested Saturday when police found him passed out in a running vehicle at Whataburger on Sherwood Way. He was blocking the drive-through lane.

On Friday, a similar incident happened at the Clarion Hotel at 441 Rio Concho Dr. There, hotel employees reported a man passed out in a running vehicle that was parked. Police arrested and charged Cornell Davis, 41, not with DWI, but instead the lesser charge of public intoxication.

The moral of the story may be, don’t pass out in a car in the drive-through at Whataburger. Instead, park at a hotel before you pass out. Of course all situations police deal with are different and require officer judgment for what crime to press charges, depending upon circumstances not revealed in weekend summary reports.
