Once again, nine people were thrown in jail on misdemeanor charges. Lets check our math, the report indicates 25 people were booked...even so...take away nine misdemeanors that leaves 14 issues. Our officers are burdened with enough paperwork, our jails are crowded, so why are we jailing people for misdemeanor offenses? Inquiring minds want to know!

I want to say that I most definitely agree with Lazy T on the Arrest roster ... and I'm curious of when it became an arrestable offense for driving one's car when the registration of the vehicle has expired, or when a persons DL has expired ? In the early 80's I was stopped for a brake light being out, also ... my DL was invalid by one week. The officer wrote up a traffic ticket for the brake light and for my DL being one week past its expiration and told me if I get the registration on the vehicle and renew my DL within 7 days ... both tickets will be dismissed ... which I took care of both within a couple of days ... took the tickets to the Municipal court building... showing that I had taken care of the problems... and the tickets were dismissed. Has the laws changed?? If so... then it's no wonder why the courts and the Jail are overcrowded. I'm also curious if these misdemeanors are just being recorded as "Arrest" and are actually just a ticket?? Something smells fishy, and its not just the City tap water!! Just saying... #SomethingStinks
