Woman Arrested After She Runs Down Pedestrian

SAN ANGELO, TX — Toni R. Ray, 24, was charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly weapon for, what police said, running down a 27-year-old woman who was walking in the 1800 block of Hudson Street around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police said just prior to the crash, the victim and Ray had run into one another at the Stripes Convenience Store located at 1821 N. Bryant Boulevard.  The victim, who Ray knew, had left the store to avoid confrontation, said police.

Later, the woman struck by Ray’s white 2012 Ford Edge as she was attempting to walk home.  The victim suffered incapacitating injuries and was treated in an area hospital.

Police located Ray and her damaged vehicle in the 3300 block of Sherwood Way near Walgreen’s.

Ray was booked into the Tom Green County Jail but was out on Monday on a $30,000 bond.
