Coleman Police Seize 68 Grams of Home Grown Marijuana

COELMAN, TX -- Last Friday, three individuals were arrested by Coleman Police Department officers after responding to an anonymous tip for marijuana plants growing in the back yard of 1015 Comal St.

When police arrived at the scene, the marijuana plants were visible from the roadway, according to Coleman police Detective Jacks.

Police located two occupants and the residence, Theopalis Thomas, 18, and Nancy Cody, 17, and both attempted to flee from police after opening the front door to officers, Det. Jacks said.

Both arrested and transported to the Coleman Jail with a State Jail Felony Possession of Marijuana.

During the search of the property, 68.3 grams of marijuana, scales, packaging material and various drug paraphernalia were located and seized.

Det. Jacks said an unidentified male approached the property on a bike during the search. He was a resident of the property and identified as Robert Thomas age 26.

Police performed a procedural pat down for weapons which resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and the subsequent arrest of Thomas for 3rd Degree Felony Possession of Controlled Substance.

Det. Jacks said all three subjects bonded out from jail on Saturday, Aug.12.
