EXCLUSIVE: Man Robs Love Shack at Gun Point

SAN ANGELO, TX — Just after noon Sunday, a man robbed The Love Shack, in the 1800 block of S. Lincoln St., stated the store’s owner, Rob Cromwell. He said police arrived quickly and are still investigating.

Cromwell said a man pictured in the photos and video below entered the store and asked to look at pipes. The employee who was manning the store assisted the man, but could sense he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Cromwell said the man settled on his selection of a very fancy, and expensive, 3-perc with showerhead perc, glass-on-glass scientific pipe. The apparatus retails for $120.

The employee, who asked not to be identified, said he pulled the pipe down, and the robber said he liked it and was going to take it. So customer and clerk walked over to the register together.  “As I was going to cash him out. He started to walk away from the register, and I told him to hold on,” the clerk said.

The clerk continued, “He pointed it (a firearm) at me and said he was going to ‘take it’, so I said just go ahead and take it!”

The robber didn’t take anything except the fancy pipe. No money was taken, Cromwell said.

The man is still at-large, and Cromwell gave us the surveillance video. “We called the police. They were very cool and very professional. I can’t say enough good things about how the police are handling this,” Cromwell said.

More information may be available tomorrow and we will publish a follow-up.
