SAN ANGELO, TX -- A lengthy multi-agency, joint Narcotics Operation initiative resulted in the arrests of 24 suspects stemming from their role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy operated in San Angelo.
Investigators and Agents with the San Angelo Police Department’s (SAPD) Street Crimes Division, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Texas Department of Public Safety conducted the joint Narcotics Operation. Five of the suspects are gang affiliated, according to SAPD.
The defendants were prosecuted in Federal Court with the assistance of Assistant United States Attorneys Jeff Haag and Juanita Fielden. Charges against the listed defendants ranged from possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine over 50 grams, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Other defendants are still awaiting sentencing.

Pursuant to the Operation, which included the execution of nine search warrants, investigators seized 72 pounds of methamphetamine, 2.29 pounds of cocaine, 3.6 ounces of heroin, 26 guns, 1 vehicle, and $90,000 in U.S. currency.
