Three Arrests Made in the Murder of an Abilene Teenager

ABILENE, TX -- Abilene police officers have made three arrests following an investigation into the murder of a 19-year-old Abilene man last Friday.

Abilene police say the victim, Bronson Boyles, was shot just before midnight on Friday after an argument broke out between Boyles and another man at the Summer Wind Apartments in the 1000 block of South Clack St.

Following the shooting, neighbors of Boyles took him to a local Abilene hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police arrested and charged three suspects in the murder, D'Jaman Keshod West, 19 of Sweetwater, D'Audre Raashawn Hight-Ealy,20, of Abilene and Jerel Lamar Mathis, 19, of Abilene.

According to court documents obtained by local news sources, multiple witnesses identified West as the shooter. One witness said West grabbed Boyles' arm during the argument and shot him in the chest.

Police said West was wearing a GPS monitor at the time of the shooting which places him at the scene.

All three suspects are being charged with aggravated robbery along with the charge of murder.

All three men are in custody, but West and Mathis are both in custody on a $700,000 bond, while Hight-Ealy's bond totals $740,000.
