Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Minor Over The Weekend

 

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – Over the weekend 52 people were arrested in Tom Green County. Of the 52 arrests, one was arrested for Sexual Assault of Child and another for Sexual Assault.

Margarito Jesus Quevedo, 22, charged with Sexual Assault of a Child and an ICE hold, was booked into the Tom Green County Jail just before 6 p.m. on Friday on a $25,0000 bond.

According to a Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a sheriff’s Deputy and a Detective with the San Angelo Police Department's (SAPD) Criminal Investigation Division, had been dispatched to the 4000 block of Herbert Road a week ago for the report of a sexual assault of a child. Upon arrival, the two investigating law enforcement agents met with the complainant who introduced them to the 15-year-old female victim.

The young female detailed that she “had sexual intercourse with Quevedo on five to seven separate occasions over the course of three weeks.” The victim said the last sexual act with Quevedo occurred on July 11. The official date of the incident was reported on July 13.

The victim also explained that Quevedo worked for her father and resided in a small apartment on the family's property. She declared in writing that their relationship was consensual.

On Saturday, officers with the SAPD arrested Mark Anthony Salas, 25, on a Sexual Assault charge. He was subsequently booked into the county jail on a $3,500 bond.

Over the weekend, a majority of individuals were arrested on aggravated assault charges. Six individuals were arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury - Family Violence and one person was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, while another was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury.

Jonathan Ray Samaniego, 21, was arrested by SAPD for assault causing bodily injury and was booked into the jail just after noon on Friday. His bond is $1,000.
