Felon Gets More Than He Bargained for After Attempting to Sell a Gun

ABILENE, TX – A convicted felon who tried to sell a gun to a pawn shop in South Abilene was arrested after police found him sleeping in his truck.

Zachary Shane Hollis, 20, walked into Wild Bill’s Pawn in Abilene and tried to sell a Glock 19 around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Pawn shop declined the purchase.

After Hollis left the store, an employee found him passed out in his pickup truck. Fearing for his well-being, the store called 911 and asked the Abilene police to come check him out.

Since Hollis is not allowed to possess a firearm, police did arrest him after learning he was convicted of a felony in 2015.

Hollis was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and was transported to the Taylor County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
