Midland Man Charged with Capital Murder After Infant Dies From Beatings

 

MIDLAND, TX -- A Midland man was arrested and charged last week for striking a five-month-old child.  

Timothy Allen Penn, 28, was arrested on June 22 after he confessed to Midland police officers that he struck the child "multiple times," according to a local news source

He is being held in Midland County jail on $250,000 bound for a for a charge of injury to a child, elderly or disabled individual with the intent to harm.

The child was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries following the assault.

Tiffany Enriquez, 22, was also arrested in connection to the abuse last week in Lubbock. She is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center for a felony charge of injury to a child. . 

 An investigation by Midland police is still underway. 

Update: Monday, July 3 @ 2:20 p.m. 

Penn's charge of Injury to a Child has been changed to Capital Murder.

The Midland Police Department confirmed with a local news source that the five-moth-old male Penn had struck multiple times succumbed to his injuries Sunday night in Lubbock. 

It is unknown at this time if Enriquez's charge of Injury to a Child will change too.
