SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- The San Angelo Police Department’s Cold Case Section is seeking information regarding the 1995 murder of Christopher Shawn Hays.
On November 7, 1995, between 8:10 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. a person or persons entered Christopher Shawn Hays residence located in the 1800 block of Shady Hill Circle. At approximately 8:20 p.m. a female, who was living at the residence, and her two small children arrived. As the female was maneuvering through the residence she encountered a masked male subject who was pointing a gun at her.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. the female noticed car lights shinning on the house and heard a vehicle pulling up to the residence. A few minutes later, the female heard a knock on one of the windows and then Mr. Hays entering through the front door. Upon entering Hays was shot at least one time. The female then heard the front door close and then her vehicle as it started and drove off.
The vehicle was later observed near a boat ramp/parking lot, not far from Mr. Hays’ home, being parked next to another vehicle.
It is believed that someone observed the suspect switching vehicles and if they did, this information could assist law enforcement in solving Mr. Hays’ murder.
