Man Attempts to Steal Fishing Pole and Beer from Wal Mart

 

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- Over the last 48 hours, 39 people were arrested in Tom Green County. One of the arrests made was for an individual who attempted to steal a fishing pole and beer from a local Walmart.

Lemuel Seth Gonzales, 33, was arrested on a warrant Saturday around 1:20 a.m. after San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) officers were dispatched to the Walmart on W. 29th St. for a shoplifting in progress. Officers arrived and located Gonzales as he was attempting to drive off.  According to a SAPD press release, during a search of Gonzales' vehicle police found the stolen fishing pole and beer.

Gonzales was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 2:42 p.m. for Theft of Property on a  $500 bond. Court documents show that Gonzales has 13 other charges on his criminal record.

Of the other arrests from this weekend, 18 were arrested on new complaints, 14 were arrested via warrant arrests and eight were arrested from complaints and warrants.

  • Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence: 2
  • Driving While Intoxicated: 5
  • Criminal Trespass: 1
