Missing San Angelo Teen Found With Underaged Friends Speeding and Drinking

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas DPS on Saturday recovered a 16-year-old boy reported missing out of San Angelo after a traffic stop.

According to the DPS, at approximately  10 p.m. Saturday, a DPS Trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Chevrolet pickup on U.S. 277 for speeding. When the Trooper made contact with the driver and five passengers, all of whom were minors, the Trooper observed an alcoholic beverage in the center console. A subsequent search revealed several more alcoholic beverages throughout the vehicle.

While issuing citations to all occupants of the vehicle, the Trooper identified the 16-year old male juvenile and confirmed a missing juvenile alert through the San Angelo Police Department.  Once on scene, the juvenile was released to his case worker and all other occupants were issued citations for minor in possession of alcoholic beverage and released, a DPS spokesman stated.
