Police Arrest Man Who Hid Drugs in His Fast Food Order

 

SAN ANGELO, TX-- A 27-year-old San Angelo man was arrested on multiple charges yesterday afternoon after police discovered crack and cocaine in his fast food. 

At approximately 2:00 p.m., police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the driver of a white 2001 Lincoln Town Car near S. Koenigheim and W. Concho Avenue. However, the driver failed to stop and continued on for several blocks while committing numerous traffic violations before pulling over into the parking lot of the Walgreens located at 12 N. Abe Street, read a San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) press release.

Police ordered the driver out of the vehicle after stopping in the Walgreens parking lot. the driver, later identified as Damon Demetrice Thompson, 27, was arrested without further incident, according to the SAPD press release.

After arresting Thompson, officers noticed a chili stain on his shirt and detected a very strong odor of marijuana coming from Thompson's vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle and inspection of Thompson’s freshly purchased fast food, Officers discovered a bag of chili and cheese-coated suspected crack cocaine along with a bag of marijuana hidden amongst Thompson’s Wienerschnitzel chili cheese fries.  Police also located and seized drug paraphernalia associated with the trafficking of illegal narcotics.

Thompson was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance PG1 4G-<200G, Possession of Marijuana <2OZ, Fleeing Police Officer, and No Safety Belt.
