West Texas Man Indicted After Wounding Seven From Motel Balcony

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - A West Texas grand jury has indicted a 23-year-old man after he opened fire on a group of people standing on a motel balcony, wounding seven.

The Lubbock County jury indited Adrian Vicente Castillo, 23, on a count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury.

The range of punishment Castillo could serve is anywhere between two to twenty years in prison, according to KTXS.com.

Authorities say Castillo was leaving a Lubbock bar on April 3, when he began arguing with people on the second-story balcony at the nearby motel. The bickering escalated and Castillo pulled a handgun, read the KTXS report.

Castillo remains incarcerated at the Lubbock County jail. Castillo is also being held on a parole violation.

Jail records do not indicate whether Castillo has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
