SAN ANGELO, TX - A San Angelo man was rushed to the hospital this morning after a woman, possibly a family member, stabbed him in the groin. It is still unclear where the stabbing took place, however, since the victim was assisted at a secondary location. Currently, San Angelo Police are investigating a residence on Madison and Avenue J, the Motel 6 on Ben Ficklin and Bryant, and a baseball field in the area.
San Angelo Police Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, at approximately 9:14 a.m., San Angelo Police Public Safety Communications received a phone call for a possible stabbing near the area of Ben Ficklin towards the baseball field.
"Officers responded to that area," she said. "The victim, who is a 33-year-old male, was located. He had walked away from the initial location."
The victim sought help, and an ambulance transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injury.
The stabbing, and how the injury occurred, is currently under investigation, Gonzalez said. She added that there are multiple patrol units in the area trying to determine the crime scene.
LIVE! will release more details once they become available.
