SAN ANGELO, TX - Since our last update, local law enforcement arrested 30 people, including two San Angelo men: one for his connection to a cold case murder, and the other for online solicitation of a minor younger than 14.
Yesterday at 6:10 p.m., Tom Green County Sheriff's officials arrested and booked Robert Lamar Miller, 45, into the Tom Green County Jail for two outstanding warrants: one for theft of property, and the other for murder.
Public Information Officer for Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Lt. Christina Lopez said Miller is connected to a cold case murder, and Sheriff David Jones is investigating. However, he will not be sending out a press release until next week. LIVE! will provide an update once more information becomes available.
According to jail records, however, Miller has been arrested 17 times in Tom Green County. His offenses include engaging in organized criminal activity, multiple accounts of property theft, and multiple accounts of documentation and financial fraud.
He was first convicted in 1999 for secure execution document deception, and was charged with bail jumping twice in 2010.
The engaging in organized criminal activity was for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, according to court documents.
At this time, Miller's bonds total $501,000.
In addition to Miller, San Angelo Police arrested Jaime Ramirez Cruz, 21, on an outstanding warrant charge out of Eastland, Texas for online solicitation of a minor under the age of 14. He was booked at 6:01 p.m. yesterday into the TGCJ. His bond is set at $25,000.
This case will be considered a second degree felony given the age of the victim, according to the Texas Penal Code Section 33.021(b).
Overall, out of the 30 arrests, nine people were booked for new crimes, 17 for outstanding warrants, and four for both.
