Arrests: Failed Attempts to Take Gun from Officer and Steal from Dollar General

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Since our previous update, 18 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail. Included in those arrests were two women: Anita Garza, 24, of San Angelo, and 41-year-old Michelle Martinez.

Yesterday, at around 6:45 p.m., San Angelo Police dispatched to a residence in the 4100 block of San Antonio St. for the report of a missing adult.

“Garza assaulted [an] officer and attempted to take the officer’s gun out of its holster,” said SAPD.

As a result of her actions, Garza was arrested for Attempt to Take Weapon from an Officer. This is her first arrest in Tom Green County, and her bond is set at $10,000.

In another case yesterday, SAPD officers dispatched to the Dollar General on Freeland for the report of a theft in progress at around 4:30 p.m.

Officers arrested Martinez for Theft of Property <$2,500 2/More Previous Convictions.

This is Martinez’s 24th arrest in TGC, and her bond is set at $7,500. Martinez has a history of theft and criminal trespass.

Overall, out of the 18 arrestees, 11 people had outstanding warrants, and seven people went to the TGCJ for new crimes.

The other crimes to make the new complaint list include:

  • Comm. Theft of Property: 1
  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury: 1
  • Possession of Controlled Substance: 2
  • Theft Class C: 1
  • Possession of Marijuana: 1

You are so mean. A criminal is a criminal, but you don't have to make remarks that erode at a person's self esteem. Maybe she won't read this, may she will. It is still totally uncalled for.
