BIG SPRING, TX – On October 24, 2016, the Big Spring Police Department responded to a suicide call that resulted in the death of Gloria Martinez. After investigating the circumstances, police ruled the suicide suspicious. After investigating further, Martinez's son, Jason Luera, 32, confessed to murdering her.
Luera had been arrested for violating his parole Dec. 9, 2016. His charges included burglary of a habitation/intend other felony and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was questioned once again on Jan. 19, 2017 and he confessed to the crime.
According to a local news source, no further details are available.
