San Angelo Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 5-Year-Old Child

 

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – At approximately 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon, San Angelo Police located and arrested 61-year-old Antonio SanJuan for an outstanding warrant related to the sexual assault involving a 5-year-old female.

Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, on January 3, SAPD officials received a report of a sexual assault involving the child. SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division’s Child Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation and established probable cause to name SanJuan as a suspect.  Justice of the Peace Judge Fred Buck issued the arrest warrant for Aggravated Sexual Assault.

SAPD located SanJuan at his place of employment in the 2100 block of E. 37th Street yesterday afternoon and was then transported to Police Headquarters for questioning.

Following his interview, SanJuan was transported to the Tom Green County Jail where he is being held on a $100,000.00 Surety Bond. Detective J. Cannady is the current lead investigator on this case. 

Including SanJuan, and since our last update, local law enforcement arrested 42 people in TGC. Out of those arrests, 11 people had new complaints, 23 had outstanding warrants, and six people had both.

  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence: 1
  • Possession of Controlled Substance: 1
  • Possession of Dangerous Drug: 1
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 2
  • Public Intoxication: 4
  • Resist Arrest: 2
  • Fail to Identify Fugitive From Justice: 1
  • Prohibited Weapon Switchblade/Knuckle: 1
  • Assault Public Servant: 1
  • Criminal Mischief: 1
  • DWI: 1
