Katy Man Arrested Near San Angelo for Laundering Money, $32,050 in Cash Seized

 

SAN ANGELO – According to a press inquiry initiated by San Angelo LIVE!, The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated they seized $32,050 cash on Christmas Eve as a result of a traffic stop in Tom Green County.

At approximately 2 p.m. Saturday, a DPS trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2016 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on U.S. 87.

During the traffic stop, the trooper observed signs of criminal behavior, obtained probable cause to search the vehicle, and discovered the cash hidden in the vehicle, DPS stated.

DPS Criminal Investigations Special Agents are assisting in the investigation.

DPS identified the driver as David Armentor, 23, of Katy. He was arrested and charged with money laundering (a state jail felony) and booked into Tom Green County Jail.

According to Tom Green County jail records, Armentor was released from jail after posting a $20,000 bond on Christmas Day. When he was booked, he was charged with money laundering more than $150,000 but less than $300,000.
