SAN ANGELO, TX - In the past 48 hours, two wanted felons made their return to Tom Green County after being arrested in Michigan and Abilene, and two men went to jail for crimes against children.
At 3:13 a.m. this morning, 28-year-old Raymond Alvarado Jr. was booked into the Tom Green County Jail. Alvarado was wanted by San Angelo Police in connection to the double homicide of Jimmy Andrew Gonzales and Anthony Martinez, both 28 years old. This incident occurred in the 1000 block of Rio Grande Street in September 2016. Joint law enforcement agencies apprehended Alvarado Jr. in Lansing, Michigan on December 8. Alvarado Jr.'s bond is set at $500,000.
In addition to Alvarado Jr., Pete Frank Estrada, 32, returned to Tom Green County Tuesday evening after Abilene Police arrested him last week on an Aggravated Robbery warrant. Estrada, also known as "Oso," on Nov. 30, was involved in the shooting and aggravated robbery incident on Avenue O. See that story and Abilene arrest details here and here.
Estrada's bond is set at $150,000.
In regards to the crimes against children, on Tuesday evening, Tom Green County Sheriff's deputies executed an outstanding Possession of Child Pornography warrant. Joel Livingstone Sharp, 77, was booked into the TGCJ at 6:32 p.m.
In July, Sharp was indicted on this third degree felony charge, which stems back to December 2014. According to the indictment, on or about Dec. 5, 2014, Sharp did "then and there intentionally and knowingly [possessed] visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to-wit: actual or simulated sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse or masturbation or lewd exhibition of the genitals."
Sharp's bond is set at $25,000.
In addition to Sharp, the Department of Public Safety officials arrested 35-year-old Geovanni Severin for Online Solicitation of a Minor. Sgt. Justin Baker said, at this time, DPS cannot release any details on this case. However, according to jail records, Severin was booked yesterday evening into the TGCJ at 6:59 p.m., and no bond has been set. Once information becomes available, LIVE! will provide an update.
Overall, local law enforcement arrested 46 people in the past 48 hours, and including these men, 21 people were arrested on outstanding warrants, 21 on new complaints, and four people went to the TGCJ for both outstanding warrants and new crimes.
