Midland Woman Caught Trying to Hire Man to Kill Her Husband

 

MIDLAND, TX- A Midland woman, Laura Dematti, 56,accused of trying hire a man to kill her husband, is now behind bars, and faces charges solicitation of murder charges. 

NewsWest 9 reported, “According to the report, a man recorded the encounter and later went to the police. The document doesn’t give the identity of the man, but says he came forward on Dec. 14.”

During the encounter, police say that Dematti explained the layout of her house and husband in great detail. The two even drew a map for the crime.

Also during the recorded encounter, Dematti told the man that her husband’s murder would be a two-person job. Dematti instructed that the “man go in and out of the home through the back and described her neighbors,” NewsWest 9 said. “The man said the job will be quiet and that they will use a silencer on the gun so there won’t be a lot of noise.”

Dematti explained to the man that she would want to keep the safe in the home, her husband’s wallet and phone, but she agreed that they would split the $90,000 she would receive from her husband’s death.

“Police say that Dematti refused to speak about the incident and was arrested on Dec. 15,” NewsWest 9 reported.

Dematti’s husband did disclose to police that he was “concerned for his safety and life.”

Dematti’s bond has been sat at $1 million.
