BROWNWOOD, TX- On Saturday, Dec. 17, a car struck 8-year-old Daylan Franklin. After first responders transported the boy to Brownwood Regional Medical Center, medical staff pronounced him dead at 4:11 p.m., not too long after his arrival.
According to KTXS, police said that the crash happened at 3:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of 6th St. Police also said the driver of the vehicle that hit the boy never stopped, but they located the vehicle several blocks away.
Later, officials identified 34-year-old Samuel Juarez as the driver, and they arrested him for intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid, both second-degree felony offenses.
