U.S. Border Patrol Agents Arrest Previously Deported Convicted Felons

DEL RIO, TX - Recently, U.S. Border Patrol agents in Del Rio arrested a convicted sex offender and another man convicted of voluntary manslaughter within a 24-hour period. Both men had been previously deported, said a press release.

According to the release, on Nov. 2, 30-year-old Jorge Francisco Alarcon-Vaquera, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, was apprehended by Eagle Pass Border Patrol agents near Eagle Pass. During processing, agents discovered the man was convicted of indecency with a child sexual contact in Dallas. Alarcon-Vaquera was previously removed from the U.S. on June 17, 2008 to Mexico after serving his prison sentence.

On Nov. 3, Sergio Avila-Saucedo, 33, also an undocumented Mexican immigrant, was apprehended by Comstock Border Patrol agents near Comstock. During processing, agents learned that Avila-Saucedo was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in Las Vegas. He was sentenced to eight years in prison, and was removed from the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2012 to Mexico.

Both men face charges of illegal re-entry after deportation, which carries a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison, said U.S. BP officials.
