Duo in Possession of Meth, One Attempts to Evade Arrest

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Local law enforcement had another busy weekend. Since Friday, 49 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail, including Noree Nelson, 42, and Michael Sheffield, 47.

San Angelo Police Sgt. Travis Griffith said, on Nov. 4, Officer Marcus Rodriguez and Apprentice Police Officer Bowhay conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Holcomb for a traffic violation. The passenger, identified as Nelson, immediately fled on foot and was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

"During the investigation, approximately 66 grams of methamphetamine was located, and detectives with the Street Crimes Unit responded to the scene," said Sgt. Griffith. "Both involved subjects were charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 4-200 grams. Nelson was also charged with Evading Arrest with Previous Convictions, and three county warrants."

This is Nelson's 33rd arrest in TGC, and her bonds total $97,500. This is also Sheffield's 25th arrest in TGC, and his bond is set at $50,000.

In addition to this duo, and out of the 49 arrestees, 25 people were arrested on new complaints; 18 had outstanding warrants; and six people were booked on both warrants and new complaints.

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 3
  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury: 3
  • Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon: 1
  • Fail to Identify Fugitive From Justice: 1
  • Stalking: 1
  • Animal at Large: 1
  • Indecent Exposure: 1
  • Driving with License Invalid: 1
