SAN ANGELO, TX – In the past 24 hours, local law enforcement arrested 35 people. Eleven of those arrestees had outstanding warrants, including Brian William Cascadden, 50.
Cascadden was arrested on two outstanding Indecency w/Child Sexual Contact warrants, and booked into the Tom Green County Jail yesterday afternoon at 12:20 p.m. His bonds total $150,000, and this is his fourth arrest in Tom Green County.
According to a Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office report filed by Deputy Robert Leon Massey, TGCSO Dispatch advised Massey, on July 15, 2016 at 6:39 a.m., to be en route to the 6600 block of Treece Road for the report of Indecency W/Child by Sexual Contact.
The victim was younger than 14, and a friend of the family. Dispatch also advised Massey that the suspect, identified as Cascadden, was no longer at the scene. He was possibly leaving Texas and heading to Michigan.
The report noted that Cascadden entered a family member’s room during the night and “touched” the family friend in an inappropriate sexual manner. Cascadden was staying overnight at the residence, and was supposed to be sleeping on the living room couch.
However, in the early morning hours on that day, the victim heard the bedroom door open, and thought it was her friend’s mother checking on them, but it wasn’t; it was Cascadden. The victim said when she saw him, she rolled over onto her side and pretended to be asleep.
Cascadden walked beside the bed where the victim was sleeping, pulled back the blanket, and proceeded to touch the girl inappropriately. When the girl turned toward him, Cascadden stuck the bright screen of his cellular phone in her face and stepped back away. The victim observed pornography on the screen of the phone.
When the victim thought Cascadden left the room, she attempted to fall back asleep. At around 2:30 p.m., Cascadden returned and pulled the blanket off her, and touched her inappropriately once more. The victim opened her eyes and noticed the man gratifying himself while doing so.
Closing her eyes and pretending to be asleep, the victim rolled away from Cascadden to stop his actions. That worked, and he left the room. The victim them tried to wake her friend, but could not, so she fell back asleep.
At approximately 5 a.m., the victim awoke once more to find Cascadden had returned. He proceeded to engage in indecent sexual acts once more, and the girl rolled over once more. Cascadden left the room. A short time later, the victim awoke to a knock at the door. The victim said it was Cascadden. At that point, the victim was able to wake her friend, and the two left the room to tell the friend’s mother what had transpired.
The friend said she did not recall the victim trying to wake her prior to 5:30 a.m. when Cascadden and his parents were preparing to leave.
Another individual present during the interview with Massey, however, said originally, he was unaware of Cascadden’s behavior during the night, but he woke up at approximately 1 a.m., and went to the bathroom. The individual said he passed through the living room and observed Cascadden awake, sitting on the couch using a laptop computer.
As the individual passed through the room, he said “Brian” quickly made key strokes on the computer, which made the other man believe Cascadden was trying to close and hide something.
After contacting Criminal Investigations and getting written statements from the adults and two juveniles, Massey turned the scene over to Sergeant Fiveash. Deputy Massey remained on scene to assist.
Cascadden was arrested that day, but released on July 16. Yesterday, TGCSO officials arrested Cascadden on two outstanding warrants issued in the case.
