Local Law Enforcement Serve Search Warrant at Lone Wolf Pub

SAN ANGELO, TX - At approximately 1:41 p.m. this afternoon, members of the San Angelo Police Department’s Street Crimes Division and Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division executed an Evidentiary Search Warrant at Lone Wolf Pub, 115 Paint Rock Road.

San Angelo Police Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said the warrant, issued by State District Judge Tom Gossett, authorized local authorities to enter and search the premises in an attempt to locate evidence consistent with Texas Penal Code Sections 47.03 Gambling Promotion, Section 47.04 Keeping a Gambling Place, Section 47.06 Possession of Gambling Devices, Equipment, or Paraphernalia, and Section 71.02 Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

"This operation was in reference to the issuance of several Cease and Desist notices being served to numerous gaming establishments in late August as a result of a joint operation between area law enforcement agencies," said Gonzalez.

During the course of the operation, investigators seized numerous items consistent with gambling devices, equipment, and paraphernalia described in the warrant. No arrests were made during the operation, added Gonzalez.

"The San Angelo Police Department and local law enforcement partners will continue to execute these operations as needed, said Gonzalez. "As previously stated, the welfare and safety of the citizens of San Angelo and Tom Green County is paramount, and allowing the illegal gambling operations to continue is a threat to the communities where these businesses operate."

Local law enforcement continues to search out bogus sweepstakes programs in an effort to eliminate illegal gambling under Chapter 47 of the Texas Penal Code. Lone Wolf Pub utilizes the VFW Sweepstakes which may not violate the Texas Chapter 47 Penal Code if they can prove they are taking real donations and giving away free sweepstakes entries. Good luck. Donations have already been deemed as subterfuge in Texas Courts. So far the only legitimate sweepstakes, also searched and seized, was held at the Chadbourne Gold Table Sport Cafe. They legitimately sold inhouse advertising (Sponsorship Advertising) and gave away free Sweepstakes entries to everyone until all of their cash assets were seized by local law enforcement as gambling proceeds and forced to close their mom and pop recreation facility. Lone Wolf Pub is also a mom and pop business with a great Dart Program.
