Woman Arrested for Injuring Two Children During Assault

SAN ANGELO, TX- A 46-year-old San Angelo woman is facing two counts of injury to a child after an incident at the Cross Keyes Apartment Complex, 122 South Abe last Thursday (see here).

Police were dispatched to the complex just after 5:30 p.m., Oct. 13, for the report of an unknown problem, according to a San Angelo Police Department press release.

When officers arrived, they located two girls, ages 4 and 7, who had visible injuries to their heads. Both victims required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers spoke with several subjects who said the girls were playing in the apartment courtyard when a woman came out of her apartment and assaulted the two children with a metal object. The suspect, later identified as Ammity Mae Lancaster, was not located at the time of the incident.

Subsequent to the ongoing investigation, Detective Jason Chegwidden obtained an arrest warrant for Lancaster from Justice of the Peace, Judge Eddie Howard. The press release stated Lancaster was located and arrested at the complex yesterday afternoon. She was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
