Weekend Arrests Include Wanted Felon Foot Pursuit

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – This weekend, 47 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail. Included in those arrests was 28-year-old Dustin A. Duffy, who LIVE! reported on after he led San Angelo Police on a foot chase (see story here).

This afternoon, Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Guadalupe Street around 6:40 p.m. for the report unwanted subjects on church property.

Gonzalez said, “When Officers arrived, one of the subjects, later identified as Dustin A. Duffy, ran from police and jumped a fence at a residence in the 3200 block of San Antonio. Officers pursued and watched Duffy jump another fence into a neighboring backyard.

Officers quickly established a perimeter, and eventually located Duffy hiding in the backyard next to a shed.

Duffy was taken into custody without incident, and during a search, officers located a Xanax pill on the suspect, said Gonzalez.

Duffy was charged with two counts of Criminal Trespass, Evading Arrest Detention with Prior Conviction, Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3, and an outstanding Parole Violation Warrant. Duffy was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

The second subject, a 31-year-old San Angelo man, was cooperative and released from the scene, said Gonzalez.

Including Duffy, six people arrested over the weekend had both outstanding warrants and new complaints; 22 people had new complaints only; and 19 people were arrested on outstanding warrants.

The crimes that made the new complaint include:

  • DWI: 2
  • Fail to Identify Fugitive from Justice: 1
  • Public Intoxication: 7
  • Possession/Delivery Drug Paraphernalia: 3
  • Criminal Mischief: 2
  • Assault Causes Bodily Injury: 3
  • Criminal Trespass: 6
  • Interfere w/Emergency Request for Assistance: 1
  • Assault Family: 1
  • Theft Property: 2
  • Evading Arrest: 2
  • Manufacture Delivery/Possession of Controlled Substance: 3
  • Possession of Marijuana: 2
  • Unauthorized Use of Vehicle: 1
