SAN ANGELO, TX - The initiative by local law enforcement to shut down what are described as nondescript parlors of gambling in San Angelo continued today when San Angelo police moved against the Chadbourne Gold parlor, 2821 N. Chadbourne, this afternoon.
According to San Angelo police, State District Judge Ben Woodward issued a search warrant that SAPD executed Thursday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.
According to police, the warrant authorized police to “attempt to locate evidence consistent with Texas Penal Code Sections 47.03 Gambling Promotion, Section 47.04 Keeping a Gambling Place, Section 47.06 Possession of Gambling Devices, Equipment, or Paraphernalia, and Section 71.02 Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.”
Police said they seized numerous items such as gambling devices, equipment, and paraphernalia described in the warrant.
There were no arrests.
Several weeks ago, local law enforcement along with the courts coordinated operations against gambling establishments.
“The welfare and safety of the citizens of San Angelo and Tom Green County is paramount, and allowing the illegal gambling operations to continue is a threat to the communities where these businesses operate,” the San Angelo Police Department stated in a press release.

Seems to me that all the folks that used these businesses, are now going to be roaming the streets at night. I'd rather have them sitting in those fake gambling halls all night. Who was it hurting ?
