SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Police Department is searching for a male suspect who stabbed a 29-year-old San Angelo man during an early morning assault.
SAPD Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Upton Street for the report of a stabbing. Officers arrived and located the victim inside the residence, bleeding from multiple wounds on his body. Police provided first aid until San Angelo Fire Department Medics arrived.
"Medics transported the victim to Shannon Medical Center where he later underwent surgery," said Officer Gonzalez.
She noted that detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigations personnel responded to the scene.
"During the field investigation, police learned the victim and a male suspect were engaged in an altercation at the residence when the suspect produced a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim," said Gonzalez. "Two other residents that were home during the assault were not injured."
At the time of this release, no arrests have been made. Police are actively pursuing leads and more information will be released when it becomes available.
