Shooting Victim in Front Yard Brawl Near Grape Creek Identified, More Details Released

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office released more details about the early morning front yard brawl early Sunday morning that resulted in injuries to two involved. There have been three arrests and the sheriff states there will likely be more.

According to the sheriff’s official statement, the brawl was the result of an encounter at a local bar between two groups that led to the final confrontation between the parties in the front yard of a residence on Sage Road.

The sheriff said his investigators have obtained exchanges among the parties in text message threads from their mobile phones.

They met to “confront each other and settle differences,” Jones said.

Jones said Tommy Lee McCutchen and Matthew Brown are residents at the Sage Road address. Early Sunday morning, four people in one vehicle arrived to confront Brown and McCutchen. Jared Lohse was driving. Both parties had weapons, Jones stated.

By 2:32 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene where they found two victims. Matthew Brown was stabbed twice, Jones stated. He was rushed to Shannon Medical Center where he was treated and released.

A woman, Amber Robertson, had been shot in the chest. She too was rushed to Shannon and up until today was in intensive care. Sources inform us that she was moved out of ICU within the past 24 hours and is recovering well.
