Odessa Police Detective Injured During Chase

 

Odessa Police Detective Whitney Branch, 27, was injured during a chase that led to the arrest of two suspects. Branch is currently hospitalized with head injuries.

According to the information provided by the police department, Branch was hanging from the side of a police car and fell when the car turned a corner; the injuries have left him in critical condition.

The two suspects, 29-year-old Christopher Anthony Turner and 33-year-old Jamnyea Echelle Brockett were linked to a shooting that had occurred on Saturday.

Turner and Brocket are currently jailed at the Ector County. Brocket is being held on a $15,000 bond on a felony charge of hindering apprehension of a known felon.

Meanwhile Turner is being held without bail and faces multiple felony charges including unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and eight misdemeanor warrants.
