Update From DPS on F.M. 2105 Fatal Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - A press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has released more information about the fatal crash that happened on FM 2105.

Yesterday evening at 5:56 p.m., a crash between a white 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 and a blue 2007 Chevrolet Aveo happened approximately two-miles northeast of San Angelo that resulted in one fatality.

The driver of the Aveo was identified as Sandra Faz Meza, 56, of Robert Lee, Texas. She was pronounced dead by JP Eddie Howard.

Out of three occupants in the Ram, only one person was injured--Joshua Garcia Rios, 29, of San Angelo, Texas. Rios was transported to the hospital for non-incapacitating injuries. The two passengers of the Ram were identified as Scott Edward Fulcher, 28, of San Angelo, Texas and Francisco Alan Bermea, 20, of San Angelo, Texas.

DPS reported, “The preliminary investigation indicated, unit one (Chevy Aveo) was traveling westbound on F.M. 2105. Unit two (Dodge Ram) was traveling eastbound on F.M. 2105. The driver of unit one was traveling at an unsafe speed and failed to heed a warning sign advising 'loose gravel.' [The Aveo] entered loose gravel on the roadway, and the driver failed to drive in a single lane and lost control. [The Aveo] veered into the path of [the Ram] and struck [the vehicle] on the eastbound side of the roadway.”

The posted speed on F.M. 2105 is 75 mph. According to the DPS report, all occupants involved were wearing their seatbelts.
