Sweetwater Manhunt Ends But Suspect Still on the Loose

SWEETWATER, TX - The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking residents in Sweetwater to "stay indoors, keep all doors and windows secure and report any suspicious activity immediately." This warning came after DPS and other law enforcement engaged in a manhunt that ended around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to a local news source, "Authorities are still working to identify the suspect involved. He has not been taken into custody." Additionally, the source said the Nolan County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect on Facebook as Justin Singleton of Snyder.

Singleton apparently used his motorcycle to lead law enforcement on a pursuit down I-20. He abandoned his vehicle at mile marker 251 and fled on foot.

Authorities have not released what Singleton is wanted for.
