Two San Angelo Men Arrested in Yesterday's Shooting

 

Since our last update, local law enforcement arrested 47 people. Included in those arrests were Martin Brandon Pena, 19, and Jesse Ray Baca, 21, both charged with yesterday’s shooting.

Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said Detectives with SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested Pena and Baca in connection to yesterday morning’s shooting incident on Antonio and Monterrey Streets.

Pena has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Assault MV Discharging Firearm Habitation/Building/Vehicle Serious Bodily Injury. Baca has been charged with Aggravated Assault MV Discharging Firearm Habitation/Building/Vehicle Serious Bodily Injury. The men were located yesterday afternoon and charged following their interviews with the detectives. 

"Following the initial incident, members of the Department’s Criminal Investigations, Street Crimes, and Patrol Divisions developed Pena and Baca as the suspects in the shooting," said Gonzalez. "During the investigation, Police learned that following the initial incident, the pair was involved in a drive-by shooting of a residence in the 1100 block of E. 19th Street.  No injuries were reported from the second shooting, which investigators determined was retaliation to the first incident. The intended victim is a 19-year-old San Angelo man."

This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time, added Gonzalez.

This is Pena’s fifth arrest in Tom Green County. His previous charges include drugs and unlawful carrying of a weapon. As for Baca, this is his 9th arrest in TGC. His previous charges include drugs and evading arrest.

Including these arrests, and out of the 47, 36 people were booked on outstanding warrants. Additionally, nine people were arrested on new complaints, and two people had both new complaints and outstanding warrants.

How cute! Little thugs! I bet they think they are real gangstas, too! Go to Houston...they have real gangs there. And I wouldn't advise playing with guns here in San Angelo, because even this life-long liberal is armed to the teeth...I guarantee those of us who are mature gun owners probably have much better aim than the wanna be thugs here in town...
