San Angelo Man Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for Violating Probation in Sexual Assault of Child

Yesterday was a busy day for the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, especially with warrant-related arrests.

In one case, Marcos Louis Fuentes, 40, was sentenced yesterday afternoon at a hearing in the 340th District by Judge Weatherby. He received 5 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for violating probation on a 2008 Sexual Assault of a Child case.

According to the indictment, on or about the 14th day of January 2008, Fuentes “intentionally or knowingly” caused the “penetration of the sexual organ” of a child who was then younger than 17 years of age, a second degree felony.

After the hearing, Fuentes was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 2:48 p.m.

In another case, Dominesha E. Hallcy was also arrested for an outstanding warrant filed by Karla Steppe from the San Angelo Fire Marshal’s Office for Arson of a Habitation that occurred on July 05, 2015.

“She was arrested on a warrant that was issued July 22, 2015 for that charge in Midland, Texas on May 19, 2016, and brought back to the Tom Green County Jail on May 25, 2016,” said Chief Dale Pearce with TGCSO.

Ross Coleman, San Angelo’s Fire Marshal, said there was a two-story home on E. 23rd St. A gentleman who lived there allowed Hallcy and her son to stay there for unknown reasons. However, the owner started suspecting theft and other things, so he kicked them out.

“Immediately after [they were] kicked out, the house was set on fire,” Coleman said. “The warrant went out, and she was arrested.”

Coleman added that arson of a habitat is a first degree felony.

Overall, including these two arrests, 22 people were booked into the Tom Green County Jail in the past 24 hours. There were a total of 14 people booked for outstanding warrants, five for new complaints, and three for new complaints and outstanding warrants.

Here are the crimes to make the new complaint list:

  • Possession of Marijuana: 2
  • Evading/Resisting Arrest: 2
  • DWI: 2
  • Criminal Trespass: 1
  • Public Intoxication: 1
