Yesterday afternoon, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a San Angelo man, Ernest Gonzales, 31, for burglarizing two vehicles at Wall High School and five outstanding warrants.
Sheriff David Jones, in a press release, said TGCSO was notified at 2:04 p.m. of two vehicle burglaries that occurred at Wall High School earlier in the day. Patrol Deputies responded to the scene, where they gathered evidence along with video surveillance evidence of the suspect vehicle.
“Patrol Deputies, along with members of the Criminal Investigation Division, located the suspect vehicle based on information received from concerned citizens of Tom Green County,” said Sheriff Jones.
After identifying the suspect, deputies arrested Gonzales for the Theft of Property over $2,500 but less than $30,000, a State Jail Felony, from the Wall High School Motor Vehicle Burglaries. Gonzales was also arrested on five outstanding local traffic warrants, and is currently incarcerated in the Tom Green County Jail.
“This offense was widely published on social media and in the local media,” said Sheriff Jones. “The Tom Green County Sheriffs’ Office sincerely appreciates the public’s collaboration and response to this matter, which assisted in the investigation.”
