Reward for a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Increased to $10,000

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is reminding the public that the reward for Israel Aguirre, 34, has increased to $10,000 for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in during the month of March, said a press release Wednesday. Aguirre, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and this month’s featured fugitive, is wanted for murder in connection with a 2002 homicide in Kaufman County. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

Aguirre has ties to the Dallas area as well as Mexico. In 2002, Aguirre was arrested for murder and deported to Mexico before standing trial. He was arrested again in the United States in 2005 and made several court appearances before absconding. Aguirre’s criminal history also includes theft and prostitution. For more information and updates in the event of his arrest, see his wanted bulletin at http://www.dps.texas.gov/Texas10MostWanted/fugitiveDetails.aspx?id=249.

DPS describe Aguirre as 5 feet 8 inches tall, and he weighs approximately 130 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest and left arm. He also may go by the aliases Israel Aguirre Jaimez, Israel Aguirre-Jaimez or Israel Jaimez Carmona.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/texas10mostwanted/.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.
