DPS Increases Reward to $10,000 for Most Wanted Fugitive

The Department of Public Safety officials announced this week that the reward for Israel Aguirre, 34, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive featured this month, has increased to $10,000 for information leading to his capture. To receive the reward, the tip must come in during the month of March, and all tips are anonymous.

Officials said Aguirre is wanted for murder in connection with a 2002 homicide in Kaufman County. He has ties to the Dallas area and Mexico. In 2002, Aguirre was arrested for murder but was deported to Mexico before standing trial. He was arrested again in the U.S. in 2005 and made several court appearances before absconding. Aguirre’s criminal history also includes theft and prostitution. For more information and updates in the event of his arrest, see his wanted bulletin by clicking here.

DPS described Aguirre as 5 feet 8 inches tall, and he weight approximately 130 pounds. He has tattoos on his chest and left arm. He also may go by the aliases Israel Aguirre Jaimez, Israel Aguirre-Jaimez or Israel Jaimez Carmona.

Texas Crime Stoppers, an agency funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any individual who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using their name. DPS officials encourage people to not attempt to apprehend these fugitives, for they are considered armed and dangerous.
