Abilene Police Department Investigates North Abilene Shooting

 

The Abilene Police Department is investigating a shooting involving a 35-year-old man. The man was shot multiple times at a north side residence early Tuesday morning, said Rick Tomlin, public information coordinator for APD.

Tomlin said dispatch received a call of an injured subject at 2:03 a.m. Tuesday morning. When officers arrived, they secured the scene at a home located in the 600 block of Washington Street in north Abilene. The man had multiple shot wounds in the chest area. The person who called the police said multiple gunshots were heard and a small dark colored sedan sped away from the scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division arrived and began an investigation. The 35-year-old victim is currently at an Abilene hospital being treated for his wounds. A report for Aggravated Assault was taken; however, police continue to look for leads.
