18-Year-Old Arrested for Robbing and Hitting Woman with Vehicle

Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division have obtained arrest warrants for two 18-year-old San Angelo men, Desmond Joshua Dixon and Bentley Green, for their role in a robbery that occurred just before 4 p.m. in the Marshall’s parking lot, 4001 Sunset Drive on Feb. 17, 2016, said Officer Tracy Gonzalez, public information officer for SAPD.

Gonzalez said police were called to the location last Wednesday to investigate the report of a vehicle burglary turned robbery. When they arrived, officers located a 40-year-old female victim who was suffering from apparent minor injuries she received after being struck by the suspects’ vehicle. San Angelo Fire Department medic responded and treated the victim at the scene.

“The victim told officers she left Marshall’s and discovered an unknown man burglarizing her vehicle,” said Gonzalez. “After she confronted the suspect, the man reportedly ran off and got into a nearby red/maroon-colored Honda passenger car that another man drove.”

Gonzalez added that the vehicle then struck the victim as it fled the parking lot. Witnesses at the scene confirmed the victim’s story and reported the suspect vehicle was last seen headed towards the Target shopping center.

Investigators later tagged Dixon and Green as persons of interest and recovered some of the victim’s stolen property. Subsequent to the investigation, investigators applied for arrest warrants for the pair.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, police located Green at a residence in the 2500 block of N. Van Buren. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Robbery and another outstanding warrant.

Currently, Dixon hasn’t been located. If anyone has information about Dixon’s whereabouts, contact Detective Noel Anderson at (325)657-4344, or Crime Stoppers at (325)658-HELP.
