Border Patrol Arrests 3 U.S. Citizens After 12-Hour Manhunt

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Comstock Station arrested three U.S. citizens after a 12-hour pursuit and manhunt initiated by agents assigned to the Sanderson Station, said a press release Friday.

On January 27, at approximately 2 a.m., Border Patrol agents assigned to the Sanderson Station attempted to perform an immigration inspection on the occupants of a Ford Mustang. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield to emergency equipment, continuing to travel eastbound on Highway 90 at a high rate of speed. Agents lost sight of the vehicle and contacted agents assigned to the Comstock Station. Agents were advised of the situation and were able to locate the vehicle within the Seminole Canyon State Park. A 28-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico woman was found inside the vehicle and was taken into custody. Upon investigation agents learned that two men had absconded from the vehicle and were possibly armed. Agents tracked the subjects though the brush, and, at approximately 4 a.m., requested the aid of the Del Rio Sector Special Operations Division, Sector Lake Task Force, CBP Air and Marine Operations, and U.S Park Service Marine personnel.

At approximately 2 p.m., agents received a report of two suspicious individuals near a camping area at Seminole State Park. Agents responded and identified both men, ages 18 and 22, also of Albuquerque, to be the occupants of the Mustang and placed them into custody of local authorities. Shortly after being arrested, one of the male subjects became unresponsive and Del Rio Sector Search and Trauma Rescue along with Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technicians provided medical assistance. The subject was taken to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio for further evaluation and treatment.
