Yesterday, there were two armed robberies, including the one reported in the late afternoon at H&H Snack & Save at 2220 N. Howard St. Sgt. Cade Solsbery, public information officer for the San Angelo Police Department, said officials are still investigating that robbery along with an early Wednesday morning incident at Stripes in north San Angelo.
At 4:43 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a robbery in process at the Snack & Save on Howard St. The clerk involved in the hold up described the suspect as a thin Hispanic male in his 20s, and about 5 feet 6 inches. He wore dark clothing with his face covered.
“The clerk stated the male suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the money in the cash register,” Solsbery stated.
When SAPD officers arrived, a perimeter was established around the store, but officials were unable to locate the suspect. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash prior to police arrival. Officials still have not located the suspect.
In addition to this incident, at 4:20 a.m. this morning, SAPD responded to another robbery call at Stripes located at 1821 N. Bryant Blvd. The clerk reported that two Hispanic males entered the store with their faces covered and displayed a handgun. One of the suspects wore dark clothing while the other wore a white shirt and dark pants.
“The suspects demanded money from the register and left prior to police arrival with an undisclosed amount of cash,” Solsbery stated.
At this time, Detective C. Soto with Criminal Investigation Division is the lead investigator for both Aggravated Robberies. The investigation remains ongoing and there is no other information available at this time. Investigators are also in the process of determining if these robberies are related.
