At approximately 6:15 a.m. this morning, San Angelo Police responded to a call in the 700 block of E. 16th St. for a theft in progress, said Sgt. Cade Solsbery, public information officer for SAPD.
Solsbery said the victim, Arturo Carrillo, went outside his residence and witnessed a female subject, 36-year-old Amanda Tucker, in his backyard. The man confronted Tucker and noticed some of his tools from his garage on the ground where Tucker was standing.
When officers arrived at Carrillo’s residence, they learned Tucker entered Carrillo’s garage and took some of his tools without permission. At the conclusion of the investigation, Tucker was placed under arrest and searched, said Solsbery. Officers located prescription medication in a pocket of Tucker’s pants. Police learned she had no valid prescription for that medication.
SAPD transported Tucker to the Tom Green County Jail where she was charged with Burglary of a Building and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3.
